I went and helped my parents out at a "Living History" show, aka gun show. A gun show with only 18th century stuff. Afterwards, we went out to dinner to begin my birthday week (yes...I take a whole week to be awesome).
It sucked. The service was horrible - our waitress was an oomopa loompa (that spray tan orange) that had a bump-it in her hair with light pink lips. The place was empty at 5:00 - never a good sign.
The water glasses were soapy plastic.
The saganaki did not light when she yelled, "opa!"
My salad was given to the ONE other table in the restaurant.
Then the food came.
I ordered the patty melt. When I took a bit of it I felt something odd. It was the wrapper the patty came in. It had not been unwrapped.
Suffice it to say our meal was free - my dad enjoyed his meal, my son really tried (it had been tasty prior to the discovery of the wrapper and subsequent meltdown of my mother storming into the kitchen), and my mom was too worked up to eat her burnt shish kabob.
I hope the whole week doesn't go this way.

Noooo.....things like this are great blog material! I believe in celebrating my 30th birthday ALL YEAR. Some good things are bound to happen!
Oh, jesus. I think instead of comping the meal, they should've *paid* you. It can only go up, though, right? Fingers crossed. (And happy birthday!)
