It's Been Quite Awhile...I've Missed y'all!

So...yeah...it's been quite awhile since I've blogged on this blog. I've blogged a bit on my "professional" blogs, but not here. But here I am!!

So what have I been up to? Well...let me fill you in:

  • not working out nearly enough
  • going to the State of the State address
  • keeping my house clean
  • having a jewelry party
  • becoming a member of the technology committe in my school district
  • coaching Quiz Bowl
  • loving my kitten
  • practicing being more social

Now for some details.

Yeah...I haven't' been working out as much as I'd like. That doesn't mean I never will again, it's just been kinda busy. No excuse, I know - it's just reality. Besides - the gym has been crazy with all the resolutioners. So there's that.

My son entered a contest to be out state senator's guest at the State of the State address last Wednesday - he was runner-up and we got to go. It was...interesting...yeah.

I started doing the fly lady crap to keep my house clean. I am a believer. My house has undergone an amazing transformation - I love it. I'm thinking about rewarding myself with a new bedspread - perhaps one of these modern duvet covers from CSN. Speaking of CSN stores - look forward to a review of a product coming soon...I love those stores!

I hosted a Lia Sophia party Friday...I have awesome co-workers...because of their orders I earned more than $250 in free jewelry. Sweet. Seriously sweet.

I mentioned my professional blog...I actually have three for my classes. I've really been working hard on my goal of being a professional development speaker for an additional job. I was recently invited to be part of our district's technology committee...our tech guy is retiring this year and my name is being bounced around to replace him. I'll keep you updated...that would be a HUGE change. Huge. So...we'll see...

Quiz Bowl season is back!! I am an official coach this year (last year I just helped, got my foot in the door) and my team is doing great! Both JV and Varsity are in second place in the league, which is kinda a big deal - we are up against Class A schools and we are Class B. Yeah...we're pretty awesome like that. My son is Varsity this year, and he is contributing very effectively to the team.

I love my kitten. Just love him.

And last but not least, I've been working really hard on being more social. I've sent real paper letters to people every week since the new year. I've made adult plans to get out and about. I've reached out to friends. It's going well. Thus far.

One thing I forgot to mention above...I've also been going through some tests from a vascular Dr. My left ankle doesn't seem to have a pulse, and I have painful varicose veins. So I went in for an ultrasound (in addition to Doppler, and other crap). I had NO IDEA veins grossed me out so much. I almost passed out multiple times during the ultrasound. Words can not describe how sick it made me - hearing the blood, seeing the veins, ewww...I'm kind of feeling sick just thinking about it. Never thought it would effect me like that. Live and learn, I guess!

Yay, you're back! Although if you're being more real-world social, I guess I can't really complain. ;) Dude - veins gross me out, too. Even now, after swanky old EMDR therapy. (I am much better, though.) They're just so...visceral. Bleah.

I did the fly lady thing for awhile and something about waking up to shiny sink right? but like alot of things I kinda of just stopped maybe I will start opening my daily emails again, lol. The Lia Sophia party sounds like it was a great success, they have some really great pieces. Glad your back.
